‘Woodstock meets Lake Gregory’ market night begins

Crestline’s new Friday night concert series is incorporated within “The Market at Lake Gregory,” which will open for its inaugural spring/summer/fall concert season starting this Friday, April 22, unless it rains; then it will begin April 29.

The concert series and marketplace will continue every Friday evening through Nov. 4, weather permitting.

The vibe they are trying to create is “Woodstock meets Lake Gregory,” hoping to create an image of community togetherness with peace, love and rock ‘n roll, reflecting Crestline’s new designation as a city of peace.

The approximately 40 vendors of this Friday night marketplace will be set up under the South Shore pavilion roof at 24271 San Moritz Drive in Crestline.

Since this is a concert night with vendors, the bands will be playing from 5 to 8 p.m. with the vendors opening up at 4 p.m. This is a kid-friendly event, with face painting and balloons for at least the first two weeks, plus there will be a food court for those who get hungry while listening to the music. The beer and wine will be offered by the Bear Claw Saloon.

This is a summer concert series, offered by locals for locals. The lack of a steady concert series last summer was greatly missed by many residents. They invite you to come join in the fun this summer.
Some of the bands already scheduled to perform during this concert series include Bucket List, Joey and The Green Label Band, Bear Valley Blues Band, Adam Hurlbut and  Dean Runsick, with more being scheduled daily. They are hoping to hire local bands so, if you would like to be considered to perform, let coordinator Sara Green know at https://linktr.ee/themarketatlakegregory and they have an Instagram link and a Facebook page at “The Market at Lake Gregory,” from which you can apply to be a vendor or band. There are still openings, but spaces are quickly filling.

Some of the already scheduled vendors are Crestline Antiques, Basecamp General Store, Country River Candles, Botanical Enchantress, Bridgee’s Brittle, Enzo Kettle Corn, Lake Mud Pottery, Wears the Mountain, Kacemy Party Entertainment, Top Town Baking company, Solo Brew & Roasters, Safety is Keychain, Subrosa Bazaar, Native Farms and Simply Soap Boutique. Other vendors are currently pending.

There is only space for 40 vendors to set up, but some are only there once or twice a month, so space at this time is still available.

The marketplace is not planning at this time to become a certified organic farmers market, but they encourage those seeking those items to attend the Twin Peaks Thursday night organic market, from 3 to 7 p.m. or the Saturday morning farmers market at Running Springs.

Enjoy the music and your neighbors every Friday evening for shopping, music and a drink, while enjoying the lakeside ambiance of Lake Gregory. Entrance is free and so is the parking.
