The folks at the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station fed 21 families, who otherwise would have gone without a traditional Christmas dinner, at their annual Feast for Families last Friday, Dec. 22.

According to Sheriff’s Service Specialist Lyndsi Solomon, 21 families had signed up for the annual event, now in its 12th year. Many of those who couldn’t make it to the sheriff’s station had meals delivered to their homes.

This year’s meals consisted of ham, turkey with all the traditional fixings, biscuits, mashed potatoes, marshmallows and other holiday sides, donated by the Twin Peaks Citizens on Patrol, SEBA (Sheriff’s Employees Benefit Association), Twin Peaks Explorers, Jensen’s Blue Jay, Rim of the World Association of Realtors, Twin Peaks Senior Citizens, Mountains Community Hospital, Mountain Coffee Company, Stater Bros Lake Arrowhead, Lake Gregory Yacht Club, Faith Electric and Rim Family Services.
Dozens of children, ranging from infants to teens, got a chance to talk to Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children also got a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and receive toys donated by church groups and local citizens, some of whom donated gift cards and cash.
In addition, employees from Faith Electric in Twin Peaks and Redlands donated winter clothing to those could use it during the event, which ran from 4 to 8 p.m.
