Hot dog, it’s that time of year again! The Mountain Community Alliance is sponsoring its Strut Your Mutt pet parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20 at the community garden in Green Valley Lake.

This pooch parade is going to be a howling good time, so don’t miss out. It will be followed by a community party featuring music by Vignes Rooftop Revival as well as other bands.

If your furry little friend is a fashionista, then, by all means, dress him or her up in their finest threads so they can strut their stuff down the catwalk in style. There are several categories in which your pet may win, including cutest ears and waggiest tail.

Sandi Huckaby, one of the event’s organizers, said that, in the past, some people have had their furry friends perform tricks.

Huckaby added that those attending are welcome to bring their own food or a sack lunch. Water and soda will be available for purchase. The music will begin at 1 p.m. and will continue until approximately 7 p.m.

“Vignes Rooftop Revival specializes in gypsy jazz, in the style of Django Reinhardt,” Huckaby said. “It’s an amazing band from Los Angeles. They have a ton of fans because they are so amazingly good! One of their singers, Bergen Moore, sounds just like Louis Armstrong. It’s an experience not to be missed!  Though the concert is free, donations are gratefully appreciated.”
