On Saturday, Nov. 9, Scouts from Troop 55 and Pack 264 – Ryan Terreri, Jackson Urquiza, Wyatt De Bruyn, Samuel Grim and Xavier Urquiza – collected food in front of Jensen’s Finest Foods in Blue Jay with the help of their leaders, Joe Terreri and Mary De Bruyn. They watched while Tristan dropped a donation into the shopping cart. At the same time, Boy Scouts from Troop 89 were in front of Goodwin’s. In this 19th year of Scouting for Food, the preliminary estimate is they collected 1,400 pounds of food and $1,196 in monetary donations, all of which went to Operation Provider to help make the holidays happier for local families.
