Fifes & Drums to march to raise funds

Mar 18, 2021 | Uncategorized

The Mountain Fifes & Drums Corps has once again been invited to participate in the annual Drummer’s Call at Colonial Williamsburg.

The Drummer’s Call, which will take place in May, is an invitation-only national gathering of the fifes and drums organizations who are considered by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation to present the most accurate portrayal of 18th century military music.

To help defray the costs associated with the trip, the Mountain Fifes & Drums Corps will hold a march-a-thon in Lake Arrowhead Village this Saturday, March 20, from noon to 2 p.m. They plan to march for approximately three miles or six laps around the Village while playing Colonial tunes.

The musicians invite those who wish to support their trip to visit the information table at Center Stage, where they can make a donation. Donations may also be made online at https://fifesanddrums.org/donate/.

The Drummer’s Call gives these young musicians a unique opportunity to experience Colonial American history as living historians, representing the mountain communities and the state of California.
