So much is new at the Crestline-Lake Gregory Chamber of Commerce since 2021 has begun.
The building located on Chamber Point on the north shore of Lake Gregory at 24385 Lake Drive is beginning to seek some community volunteers for this coming summer for the many activities they hope to sponsor and job positions at the new Crestline Visitors and Welcome Center. The chamber is also looking forward to returning to sponsoring some activities this summer as the county has moved out of the purple tier and into the red tier, and hopefully soon into the orange tier of COVID restrictions.
The newly repaired and painted office building itself is looking great, with new colors. This summer it will serve as both a chamber office for its members and as the Crestline Visitors and Welcome Center for the public.
The Visitors Center will include a small store with touristy items from chamber members for sale while promoting their businesses. It will be open to the public on Tuesdays through Saturdays and, if they can get some more interested resident volunteers, maybe it will be able to be open seven days a week to help those visitors who come to see the new attractions at Lake Gregory. If you want to volunteer, please contact Kathy at the chamber office at (909) 338-2706 or contact them though their website at www.crestlinechamber.org.
The chamber is hopeful that, if the county reaches the orange tier, they will be able to sponsor summer fun, including a Saturday, July 3 Jamboree Days parade, with fireworks on July 4 over the lake by the Lake Gregory Community Recreation Company and recurring Friday Night Famer’s Markets beginning in July. The resumption of these activities is entirely dependent on COVID restrictions being relaxed and by being in the orange or a less restrictive tier.
The chamber has already begun working on those summer events. They have elected their new officers for 2021 and they are looking forward to being able to promote the community in style this year, as Lake Gregory reopens to the public.
New Chamber of Commerce directors for this next year will be Daley Hake, Espie Murray, George Faragelli, Jenna Rose, John Short, Michelle Hake and Mike Johnstone. The officers for this year include new board member Gary Lopez as secretary, Jody Glaviano as treasurer, Mick Hill as vice president and Louis Boehle as president.
