Terry Peña, chief operating officer and chief nursing officer at Mountains Community Hospital, told the hospital board that she is “very impressed by the teamwork” the staff has displayed as they have administered Coronavirus vaccines to mountain residents.
As of March 18, 1,334 doses had been given in a series of drive-through clinics. The one on March 15 took place in snow, rain and fog.
Peña sent a series of photos to the county, who she said “loved we’re out there doing this for our community.” She added that she has a good connection with the county, which is why MCH is still getting vaccine.
MCH plans to hold more clinics in the future. Anyone who is interested in getting the vaccinations and has not yet filled out an interest form may do so at www.mchcares.com/covid-19-vaccine-interest-form.
