Bye-bye, Lake Gregory’s logs

Jan 27, 2022 | Community News, Crestline, Front Page

As a result of the bark beetle invasion of a couple of years ago, Lake Gregory was left with a number of tree logs that were never removed after being cut down. The eyesore it created was noted by many residents and visitors. This year, Regional Parks, with some help from 2nd District Supervisor Janice Rutherford’s office, found funding to remove those logs. Shown here is the removal effort that was underway on Jan. 21 by The Tree Guys, Inc. of Lake Arrowhead to pull partial and entire logs from the area along Lake Drive between the Crestline Chamber office and the spill basin. The large crane was supplied by Jeff’s Crane Service of Crestline. Standing dead trees will also be removed as they are found. Work is ongoing. (Photo by Mike Harris)
