Mouth-watering monthly open house

Cozy rustic store with food and decor items

Encompass Antiques and Gifts set out a gourmet tasting experience that was a delight for the tastebuds at their open house on Saturday, July 23 for all who attended.

Store owner Louis Boehle had pairings of Brie and other cheeses, pear and other jams with crackers and arugula for delicious mouthfuls of flavor. He had Vienna sausages paired with a tasty chili infused mustard, three types of refreshing cocktail mixers, satisfying lemonade and fruity teas, plus a corn chowder that made you wish it was cold and wintery outside right now – it was that good. All this was topped with mouth-watering apple cookies.

Encompass holds an open house once a month for these tastings of the gourmet mixes, packaged food items and meals that are sold at the store. All items have been chosen by Boehle, who was a chef for a decade before he opened Encompass and loves high quality foods.

The next open house will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 at 23775 Lake Drive in Crestline.

“I recommend that everyone be sure to attend. I’m sure glad I read about it in the newspaper and came to this one,” said Crestline resident Mae Snow. “And I’m coming next month, too; these food pairings are so amazing!”
