Learn Naloxone use, reverse opioid overdose, save lives.

Rim Communities for Youth and Mountains Community Hospital are partnering to offer free community training on the administration of naloxone, also known as Narcan.

In the training, participants will learn the symptoms of a possible opioid addiction or overdose. Prevention, the two partners say, is key.

Participants will also learn when to call emergency personnel and what to do while awaiting the arrival of paramedics.

Being properly trained to utilize naloxone could save the life of a loved one.

Those who complete the training will receive one free naloxone kit and learn where to acquire more.

This free training is recommended for anyone at risk for an opioid overdose, for friends and family of someone at risk, and for healthcare, education, social services, law enforcement and emergency response providers.

The training will take place in two sessions on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. at Springs of Life Church, 31960 Hilltop Boulevard, Running Springs.

For more information, call (909) 336-1800 or send an email to rcfycoalition@rimfamilyservices.org.
