The UCLA Mountain Bruins Alumni Board recently hosted a magical “Evening in Paris” event on March 30, which turned out to be a resounding success. This annual fundraiser, which aims to raise funds for scholarships to support local high school students attending UCLA, was a night to remember. With a record-breaking 130 guests in attendance, the event proved to be a great success in both raising money and building community support.
Thanks to the generous contributions from local businesses, silent auction donors, and community members, the UCLA Foundation was able to raise approximately $13,000 for the UCLA Mountain Bruins Scholarship Fund. These funds are dedicated to providing financial assistance to students from the local area pursuing higher education at UCLA, ensuring that money is not a barrier to their dreams.
The event was a delightful blend of fun and philanthropy, with attendees enjoying a variety of appetizers that were a big hit. A delicious dinner followed, allowing everyone to enjoy great food and great company in a beautiful atmosphere.

The UCLA Mountain Bruins Scholarship Fund is dedicated to supporting local students by offering $1,500 scholarships each year for their entire undergraduate journey at UCLA. Currently, seven students are benefiting from this scholarship: five freshmen, one junior, and one senior. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the number of students receiving this scholarship will increase to nine.
Nicholas Perez, a dedicated UCLA Board Member for over 10 years, emphasizes that the Mountain Bruins’ mission is simple: to ensure that financial obstacles do not stand in the way of deserving local students accessing higher education. “The funds raised through this event go directly to our students—100% of the proceeds support their education, not the campus,” Perez shared.
This annual gala, along with ongoing memberships, plays a vital role in driving the UCLA Mountain Bruins Scholarship Fund, which continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and their families.
The UCLA Mountain Bruins Alumni Board is already looking forward to next year’s event, continuing its commitment to ensuring that local students have the resources they need to succeed in college and beyond.
