Savoring wine, appetizers and the view

When members of the UCLA Mountain Bruins and their guests gathered on the Zen deck to sample the wines they had brought and the appetizers created in the Lake Arrowhead Lodge’s kitchen, they all marveled at the view from the deck. Phyllis Overall – who was attending her first such event – visited with President Jim Ferranti (1) prior to enjoying the charcuterie board and lobster dip (2). Kathi and Kurt Rothner (3) were among the guests who learned from Ferranti that every penny raised by the Mountain Bruins goes to scholarships to UCLA for mountain-area students. Their next event will be a fall dinner at the lodge on Oct. 30. “There will be spooky and delicious food,” Ferranti said, inviting folks to attend in costume.
