Crestline Lions Club selling See’s Candies for the holidays

It’s See’s Candies time on the mountain again. The sale will continue through Dec. 20, unless they sell out sooner, the Crestline Lions Club will be offering the community a special opportunity to purchase delicious See’s chocolate candy on the mountaintop and save them from having to stand in long lines down at the mall in San Bernardino.
As this last weekend proved, we can’t count on how the weather will act this time of year, so you may not have a good opportunity with this winter weather to go down the hill to buy See’s.
The Lions will stock both the dark and milk chocolates, assorted one-pound boxes of nuts and chews and soft-center See’s chocolates. They have numerous other selections, such as Molasses Chips, Peppermints and their wonderful long-lasting See’s Lollypops, which make perfect stocking-stuffers. They will also have some of the special, smaller boxes of See’s five-ounce specialty boxes that are less expensive, too.
“We recommend you shop early before we run out of your favorites. Our prices are the same as down the hill, but you save on gas and the long lines,” said Lion Barbara Rhodes. They have a wide variety of See’s Candies in stock but, if you want to be sure to get your favorite, contact Lion Catherine Johnson at (909) 338-5758 today.
The Lions started their sale on Dec. 10 and set up daily in front of the Oak Trunk next door to the Crestline post office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. They will repeat those hours daily until they sell out. Your will help the local Lions Club support their eye care focus and enable them to donate to the many community events and scholarships they support.
The Lions support the Braille Institute, local Boy Scouts, Boys & Girls Club of the Mountain Communities, Canine Champions, City of Hope, Crest Forest Senior Center, Crestline Food Bank, Friends in Sight, Mountain Meals on Wheels, Rebuilding Together, Hearts & Lives, Rim Scholarship Council, Ronald McDonald House, Camp Paivika, Mountain Pregnancy Center, Lions Club International Foundation, the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Center and many others.
The Lions Club is currently saving pull-tabs from aluminum cans. If you wish, and have any of these pull tabs, you may bring them with you when you come to buy See’s Candies and donate them.
The Crestline Lions Club is a service club of men and women who meet once a month on the fourth Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Leisure Shores. They have a heart for the local community and on eye health. Contact past President Catherine Johnson at (909) 338-5758, if you have any questions on any Lion projects or want to join the club.
