Cheryl Moxley

Cheryl passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024. She was born on October 21, 1949, to Ross and Charmaine Johnstone shortly after they moved to Lake Arrowhead the same year.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Charlie Harrison; her daughter, Airyn Moxley; her grandson, Robbie Moxley; and her siblings DeeDee Zetlmaier, Joanie Hopkins, Linda Chute, Tom Johnstone and Jim Johnstone.

Cheryl lived and loved life on the mountain to the fullest. She loved her family, daily walks with Charlie, travel, art, music and dancing. She was past president and a member of the Rotary Club of Lake Arrpowhead, founder of the STAR observatory program, and a board member of the UCLA Mountain Bruins, the Deer Lodge Park Property Owners Association and the Mountains Community Hospital.

She spent 37 years as a devoted and beloved teacher at Lake Arrowhead Elementary School and will always be remembered for her enthusiasm to make this world a better place.

We remembered her as we jumped into the lake on Saturday, February 3 for the PolaRotary Bear Plunge as she would have been right there to join the fun. The Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead saluted Cheryl at the Plunge with a large poster where friends could post messages and photos.

Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mountains Community Hospital Foundation: www.mchcares.com/foundation/ways-to-give.
