Jacqueline Lauder – a distinguished and published expert in gerontology, the scientific study of old age, the process of aging and the particular problems of older people – will be the featured speaker at this seminar on “Understanding Aging” sponsored by Soroptimist International of Rim of the World.
The growth of the older adult population is impacting communities, families and individuals. This growth presents a unique challenge to understanding the needs, experiences and perspectives of those older and everyone we know. It is also transforming the way organizations conduct business and deliver services in the community.
“Understanding Aging” is designed to enhance understanding and empathy toward the challenges associated with aging. Participants will engage in role-play to experience age-related conditions firsthand. This allows participants to actively encounter the physical, social and emotional aspects of aging.
Individuals dealing with aging, their family members, care givers, members of organizations serving them and the community may benefit from attending. Refreshments will be served.
The Soroptimists wish to express theirr gratitude to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians for providing the grant for our Health and Wellness seminars.
Join them on Saturday, March 2, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church, located at 28708 Highway 18, Skyforest.
