In June 2024, detectives in Twin Peaks began an investigation on suspect Tyler James Burke after he was identified as a person who sexually victimized a child.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, investigators, along with detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Crimes Against Children Detail, served a search warrant at Burke’s residence in the 2400 block of Bernard Drive in Crestline and recovered evidence related to the alleged crime of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 13.

During the search warrant service, Burke, 38, was contacted and arrested. He was booked into the Central Detention Center for P.C. 288(a) (lewd and lascivious acts with a child).
