On the evening of September 21, 2024, a fatal accident occurred on State Route 18 near Hortensia’s at the Cliffhanger, generating a significant response from local authorities. According to initial reports, a male individual was found lying in the roadway with no vehicle apparent at the scene, leading responders to believe the person was struck by a passing car. The incident was reported at approximately 7:32 PM, and efforts to locate the vehicle involved in this hit-and-run have been unsuccessful thus far. No description of the suspected vehicle involved are available.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office was notified and dispatched to the scene shortly thereafter.
