The Mountain Christian Women’s Fellowship invites all mountain women to their afternoon tea on Nov. 1 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The November guest speaker will be Laurinda Lockerby, speaking on “What God commands and what He allows.” After retiring from work in grants administration and fundraising, Lockerby and her husband, Glen, became very active in local charitable work on the mountain.
Lockerby has been on the board of the Mountain Christian Women’s Fellowship and served as its president. She also led a weekly ladies Bible study at a local church for five years. She currently facilitates the mountain’s GriefShare ministry, helping to guide people through the lonely, difficult path of mourning a loved one.
Lockerby will also be providing the music for this tea. She has participated in many musical events since moving to the mountain, including church praise teams, chime choirs, Veterans Day celebrations and solo work with Mt. Calvary Lutheran’s USO shows and Broadway show.
The tea will take place at Church of the Woods, 1410 Calgary Drive, Lake Arrowhead. Guests should call or text Beth at (909) 223-1285 to make a reservation; $10 may be paid at the door.
Ladies are asked to bring their own special teacups. Many have been wearing unique and beautiful tea hats and are encouraged to do so.
Those who are unable to attend in person may attend virtually on three platforms: www.facebook.com/MountainChristianFellowship
