On Thursday, Nov. 7, Cecilia Ponce de Leon, owner and publisher of the Alpine Mountaineer, attended a five-course meal and wine pairing at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. The guests gathered in the Magnum Room.
“It was a delightful experience that combined exquisite cuisine with carefully selected wines in a stunning mountain setting,” Ponce de Leon said.
The Resort’s executive chef, Ruben Bugarin, curated the menu specifically designed for the event. Each dish – coq au vin, pork belly, lamb and semolina cake – was crafted to highlight seasonal ingredients.
The wines from Michael David Winery included a sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, zinfandel, petite verdot and a rosé.

The meal concluded with a semolina cake topped with raspberries and cream.
