Lighting up the peninsula

Family in costumes by decorated Christmas tree at park.

The peninsula at the end of Lake Arrowhead Village was lit up on the night of Dec. 14 not only by the Christmas tree but also by two bonfires. The bonfires – sponsored by San Bernardino County Fire – drew folks who love to kick off the holiday season with the annual event. Many of them donated cash or toys to the Spark of Love campaign (1). As they waited for the bonfires to be lit, the Marsala family from Hesperia – dressed as gingerbread people – posed in front of the Christmas tree (2). As folks left the peninsula, they encountered Chad Logan of Logan Construction, who was giving away toys to boys and girls of all ages (3).
