Rim of the World High School
Rim High’s choir performed at a festival competition on Friday, May 2 in the Wilshire Auditorium at Fullerton College.
We performed three pieces for two adjudicators. Our goal for these sorts of festivals is to gain practice in performance, experience constructive competition with other high schools and gain feedback from other expert musical directors.
After our performance, we got to go to a selected theme park, Knott’s Berry Farm.
Rim High’s choir received a Silver rating, which in terms of these competitions can be viewed as second place.
Forum Music Festivals, the company that puts on these competitions, emphasizes that the performers in the Silver category are among the top 20 percent in the country.
A big shoutout to Hannah Tallman for receiving the Outstanding Musician award. She has been a fabulous accompanist all year and definitely deserves the recognition.
For every performance the judges choose a performer who really stands out from the rest as being truly outstanding (the MVP, if you will) and Hannah was ours!
