People gathered for winter outdoor event

Did you miss the 16th annual PolaRotary Bear Plunge on Feb. 1? No worries! A video of the Plunge is now available for your viewing pleasure.

Filmed and produced by the Rim of the World High School Audio/Visual Club, this exciting production is available at no charge at https://youtu.be/fSl0Gu5gHtQ. In the video you will see Rim High students interviewing and interacting with the brave jumpers who sacrifice their bodies by jumping into the freezing cold waters of Lake Arrowhead to support their favorite charities.

Most of those charities are mountain organizations including the Mountains Community Hospital Foundation, the Rim of the World Educational Foundation, the Rim of the World Historical Foundation, the Rotary Foundation and the Blue Jay Jazz Foundation, which won this year’s costume contest. See the costumed jumpers as they dive into the freezing cold water to the cheers of more than 100 spectators on the shores of the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa.

The Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead hosts the annual PolaRotary Bear Plunge, which over the past 16 years has raised over a half million dollars. Teams of jumpers representing their favorite charity collect donations from donors who want to support the charity or just want to see their “friends” go “jump in the lake.”

For information about becoming a “jumper” or to support a participating charity, Google Lake Arrowhead PolaRotary Bear Plunge. Next year’s Plunge will be on Feb. 7, 2026.
