How can you know if GriefShare is for you? When a loved one dies, it can feel as if you’re alone. Few people understand how painful and isolating your grief can be. But that doesn’t mean you have to suffer by yourself.

At GriefShare you’ll find a safe, comforting place where you can talk with others about your pain and your sadness. You’ll find support, direction and guidance on how to make it through.

Are you a little nervous about attending a group? It is normal to be nervous about going someplace for the first time, when you don’t expect to know anyone. By the second and, for sure, the third week you will look forward to being with the group who “gets you,” who understands what you’re going through. You’ll look forward to receiving the comfort and support from the group. You’ll be practicing the practical tips for navigating your grief journey.

GriefShare comes with a workbook (a suggested $20 donation) that you can write in daily. There are 13 weeks of helpful videos. We never “get over” the death of a spouse, a child, a family member or a friend. Grief work is hard work. It is essential to do the work in order to have a healthy, productive life.

The topics covered in GriefShare are: Your Grief Journey, Sadness and Loneliness, Fear and Anxiety, Anger, Regrets, Grief and Your Relationships, Questions for God, Hope and Resilience, and Caring for Grieving Children.

GriefShare begins on Thursday, Aug. 28 and will end on Nov. 20. It runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The group will meet at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 27415 School Road, Lake Arrowhead, behind Rim of the Word High School, in the ministry building.

Dr. Ginger Gabriel will be the facilitator for this scheduled group. You may contact her at askdrginger9@gmail.com or leave a voicemail at (909) 214-7485.

Join the group by calling the church to register. You must register so we can have a seat at the table for you: (909) 337-1412.
