The U.S. Postal Service recently selected Peter Villalon to serve as the postmaster of the Lake Arrowhead post office. He joins the local postal team with more than 31 years of leadership experience and a commitment to excellent customer service in the community.

“As a postmaster, it’s a true privilege to be part of this community and to work alongside such a dedicated team of employees,” Villalon said. “Every day, I see the pride our staff takes in serving our neighbors.”

Villalon is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He brings the leadership values he learned in the military – honor, courage, commitment, loyalty and integrity – to his management roles in the Postal Service.

He began working for the Postal Service in 1994 as a letter carrier in San Bernardino. Over his more than 20-year career as a letter carrier, he received numerous special achievement recognitions, including the Postmaster General Hero Award for saving a customer’s life. He also demonstrated a dedication to personal and professional growth by earning an associate degree, a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, all in Computer Science at California State University, San Bernardino.

In 2018, Villalon expanded his expertise by taking on temporary assignments with the IT department and evaluating delivery routes around the district’s coverage area. His hard work and leadership skills were recognized in 2020 when he was promoted to supervisor. Following his promotion, he served as Officer in Charge for several stations within the city of San Bernardino, where he effectively managed operations and ensured excellent retail service and delivery to customers.

In his new role as Lake Arrowhead’s postmaster, Villalon manages about 4,000 PO boxes, retail services and four clerks to provide mail delivery to approximately 10,000 to 12,000 residents and businesses.

The Lake Arrowhead post office is located at 28150 Highway 189 in upper Lake Arrowhead Village. Post office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday. Passport and passport photo services are available by appointment from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Schedule an appointment at www.usps.com/passports.
