Southern California Edison is inviting high school seniors to apply for one of their scholarship awards, which can total $50,000 over four years. SCE will award up to 30 of these awards to students to help them pursue their passion in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) and empower them to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
The initial award of $12,500 is renewable for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever comes first. Renewal is contingent on satisfactory academic performance and continued full-time enrollment in one of the designated fields of study at a four-year college and the continuation of the program by the Edison International Foundation.
Applicants must fulfill these requirements:
- Must be a high school senior with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
- Must plan to attend a four-year accredited college or university and pursue STEM programs.
- Must plan to major in an eligible STEM major – computer and information systems, engineering, engineering technology, management information systems, mathematics, natural resources and conservation and physical sciences.
The top 50 finalists will be required to submit a short video explaining how they plan to make a difference in their communities with a STEM education.
