Summer concerts return to ignite the season

Mar 4, 2026 | Entertainment, Front Page, Lake Arrowhead

Bands playing tribute to The Eagles and Linda Ronstadt will play in a double-header this summer in Lake Arrowhead Village.

As winter lingers over Lake Arrowhead, the mountain settles into its familiar cold-weather rhythm – brisk mornings, hushed afternoons and evenings that arrive a little too early. The tempo of daily life softens and summer feels like a distant memory.

Then, almost on cue each year, an announcement shifts the mood: the unveiling of the Lake Arrowhead summer concerts lineup. What began as a seasonal update has grown into something more meaningful – a yearly reminder that sun-soaked weekends and lakeside music are on their way.

At the center of it all is Rich Goodwin, owner of Lake Arrowhead Events and producer of the long-running summer concert series. While many assume the schedule is shared as soon as it’s finalized, Goodwin says the timing is intentional.

“In most years, I have the lineup finalized much earlier,” Goodwin explained. “I’ve had it ready as early as December. But announcing it then never feels right.”

Why wait? For Goodwin, it’s about mindset.

“During the holidays, everyone is focused on family gatherings, celebrations and the rush of the season. Then comes football, the playoffs and the Super Bowl. Summer just isn’t on people’s minds yet.”

Instead, he looks for a quieter window – a moment when the energy of the new year settles and people begin looking ahead.

“There’s a point after the holidays when everything becomes quiet again. People begin looking for something to anticipate. That’s when the concerts matter most. The lineup becomes something people can feel excited about.”

True to form, this year’s lineup was released last week, instantly sparking conversations throughout the mountain community. Individual tickets went on sale on Feb. 22.

Skynyrd & Frynds will bring Southern rock to the Village on the 4th of July.

The 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the largest yet.

Kicking off Memorial Day weekend and running through Labor Day weekend, the series will feature 35 concerts – two more than usual – made possible by a favorable calendar. A total of 36 bands will take the stage, including one highly anticipated double-header. The lakeside venue, which debuted to enthusiastic crowds last year, returns as the setting for the summer-long celebration.

For Goodwin, building the lineup requires both careful planning and creative instinct.

“I always maintain a core group of bands that audiences look forward to year after year,” he said. “They represent the heart of the series. But keeping the experience fresh is equally important.”

This year’s calendar balances returning favorites with new performers aimed at keeping the energy high. “I’m excited about every performance,” Goodwin said, “but there are always a few weekends that stand out.”

One pairing already generating buzz features Ronstadt Revival (Linda Ronstadt tribute) alongside Desperado (Eagles tribute). “These are truly exceptional tribute acts,” Goodwin said. “They capture that unmistakable L.A. sound of the ’70s – a sound that defined an era.” He also highlighted the deep musical ties behind the music. “Many people don’t realize Glenn Frey and Don Henley actually played in Linda Ronstadt’s band before forming the Eagles. It’s an incredible piece of music history that makes the weekend even more special.”

Another marquee weekend lands on the Fourth of July with Skynyrd & Frynds.

“This band brings tremendous energy,” Goodwin said. “They’ve performed here before, but weather and scheduling challenges worked against those shows. This year, they take the stage on the most iconic weekend of the summer.”

With 2026 marking the nation’s 250th anniversary year, the timing feels especially fitting. “There’s something uniquely powerful about hearing Southern rock anthems like ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ during such an historic year,” Goodwin said. “It’s exactly the kind of moment the summer concert series is meant to create.”

For now, winter still holds the mountain in its quiet grip. But with the lineup officially public, anticipation has begun to build. Soon enough, the docks will fill, lawn chairs will unfold and music will once again drift across the water.

In Lake Arrowhead, summer doesn’t just arrive; it’s announced. And the countdown is officially underway.
