The Running Springs Area Chamber of Commerce invites the entire community to Mountain Top Days on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7 and 8. This year’s theme, “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday,” recognizes our nation’s semiquincentennial while celebrating the patriotism, service and community spirit that make our mountain communities special.
In keeping with this patriotic theme, Mountain Top Days will honor a distinguished group of local veterans as the 2026 parade grand marshals. Those being recognized include George Jubile, who served in the United States Army; Gene Nichols, who served in the United States Marine Corps; Fred Rios, who served in the United States Navy; Bob Bernier, a Navy hospital corpsman who served alongside the Marines; and John Clemens, who served in the United States Air Force. George, Gene, Fred and John are local mountain residents; additional local veterans may also be included in the celebration.
Together, this year’s veteran grand marshals represent several branches of the United States Armed Forces and embody the dedication, sacrifice and love of country at the heart of the Mountain Top Days theme.
The annual Mountain Top Days parade begins on Friday, Aug. 7, at 6:15 p.m. along Hilltop Boulevard/Highway 18 in downtown Running Springs. Community organizations, businesses, youth groups, public safety agencies and local residents will come together for one of Running Springs’ favorite traditions.
Friday Night Live begins at 6 p.m. along Commercial Way at The Cut Above and West Coast Vape Shop. The evening will feature live classic rock from Shannon Bizzy & Friends, great food, a beer and wine garden and plenty of community fun.
The celebration continues Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. next to First Foundation Bank. Saturday’s activities will include the Running Springs farmers market, vendors and food, games for all ages and the popular fire department bucket brigade. Backpacks and school supplies will also be given away at the Chamber booth while supplies last.
