Man arrested for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor
On Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, the suspect, Kevin Suarez, 30 of Lawndale, stayed at a vacation rental in Big Bear over the Labor Day weekend. In the early morning hours of September 6, a witness saw Suarez touch a child in a sexual manner.
The incident was not reported, but the victim’s mother eventually contacted the Department of Child Family Services (DCFS) in her local area in Los Angeles County.
On Sept. 29, after learning the incident occurred in San Bernardino County – in the 300 block of Sequoia Drive in Big Bear – the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department contacted the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station. Detectives immediately responded and began an investigation.
At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives arrested Suarez for California Penal Code Section 288a, Lewd or Lascivious Acts with a Child Under the Age of 14. Suarez was transported to the West Valley Detention Center, booked into jail and is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
