Rebuilding Together Mountain Communities
If you are a homeowner and meet the requirements of low income and have repairs that are beyond your reach financially or physically, send in your application today for Rebuilding Day 2027. Applications must be received by Oct. 31.
Rebuilding Together Mountain Communities has been offering our low-income neighbors help with home repairs free of charge for over 30 years, becoming a respected mountain organization. With this track record, you would think everyone living on the mountain would know of us, but many people still haven’t gotten the word. So, if you are struggling with how to get home repairs done or have a friend or neighbor who needs a hand, contact Rebuilding Together today.
Every year we inspect all the homes that apply. We choose about six homes that are in the most need and have requests that are within our financial scope to be Rebuilding Day recipients. The selection system is on a points basis and is done with the utmost care. We endeavor to complete the selections by November so that both contractors, tradespeople and community volunteers can save the date to provide their gifts of time and talent to neighbors in need.
During the inspection period some homes may be deemed an emergency repair and cannot wait for Rebuilding Day. So, this is where many get a second chance to receive help. Our year-round Emergency Repair Program has a separate budget and doesn’t impact the Rebuilding Day budget.
The kicker here is that both programs are free of charge to the homeowners who meet the financial requirements. While emergency repairs don’t have the excitement of Rebuilding Day, they both get the job done.
For those members of the community who want to volunteer with this yearly endeavor, but for whatever reason can’t, be a donor and give to Rebuilding Together Mountain Communities. Financial support is welcome. Be an angel to keep a neighbor in need warm, safe and dry.
Rebuilding Day will take place on April 24, 2027.
To apply, homeowners can contact Rebuilding Together by mail at P.O. Box 3540, Blue Jay, CA 92317; by phone at (909) 336-3910; or by email at info@rtmc.build. More information and the opportunity to donate are available at rebuildingtogethermountaincommunities.org.
