A new scholarship fund – called the Curits James Ingham Scholarship Endowment Fund – has been established with the  gift of $100,000.

The donation was made by Suzann Foster Ingham. As a former member of the Rim of the World Educational Foundation, she chose to make the donation through Rim Ed.

Rim Ed officers met with representatives from the Rim of the World Unified School District to fine-tune the language of the memorandum of understanding (MOU).

The eligible students will be graduating seniors from the Rim district who plan to attend a community college for a career technical program or an academic program. In selecting the recipients, underserved students demonstrating a need for assistance who have demonstrated community service activity, have career goals and have demonstrated measurable potential through employment, family responsibilities and assisting others will be considered.

Two new awards will be awarded per year; second-year scholarships will be awarded automatically to previous recipient who are in good academic standing.

Awards may be used for tuition, required fees, books, supplies, equipment, tools, uniforms or other required and approved costs.

Foster Ingham met with Rim Ed President Jo Bonita Rains and Treasurer Dana Chapin on Oct. 15 to sign the MOU. The first scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors from the Class of 2027.
