Running Springs Fire welcomes Chief Andrew Grzywa

The Running Springs Water District and Running Springs Fire Department are pleased to announce that Andrew Grzywa has been selected as the next fire chief of the Running Springs Fire Department.
Chief Grzywa officially joined the team on Monday, Sept. 19. He brings more than 35 years of fire service experience with five different fire service agencies including Los Angeles County Fire Department, Cal Fire, La Habra Fire Department, La Habra Heights Fire Department and more than 30 years as a fire service instructor at Rio Hondo College.
Chief Grzywa holds numerous California State Fire Marshal certifications along with a master’s degree in criminal justice, a bachelor’s degree in business management and an associate’s degree in fire technology.
The Running Springs Water District board of directors is enthusiastic in bringing Chief Grzywa on board, stating that his extensive background in fire service will benefit the community with knowledgeable oversight of the district’s fire department.
“I’m humbled and honored to have been selected to serve as the next Running Springs fire chief,” Chief Grzyma said. “As a resident of the community, I’ve seen first-hand the outstanding service our department members provide our community daily. I’m proud to be a part of the Running Springs Fire and Water District team and look forward to continuing and strengthening the tradition of outstanding customer service that is provided daily.”
The Running Springs Water District is a local public agency charged with the duty of supplying and maintaining water service, providing fire and emergency medical care services and operating wastewater collection and treatment facilities for the residents, users and taxpayers of this area. The district is an independent special district that was formed in March 1958.
