The rim of the World High School
On Oct. 8, the Rim of the World Marching Scots competed at the Placentia Heritage Parade. It is a long-standing tradition that the band competes at this parade every year.
We have seen a lot of changes in recent years but are happy to say that the vibrant competitive community is really coming back to life! This year there were 34 bands in the parade and competing.
Despite Rim’s struggles with broken instruments and 20-year-old uniforms, we were able to reach fourth place this year! Our drum major, David Anderson, worked well under stressful conditions and successfully helped our band through a long (and very HOT!) day on the festival grounds.
We are very proud of the hard work that these students have put into their band this year and we are looking forward to competing again at the end of October. It is our aim to review the critiques from the judges and to improve our scores for the next competition in Anaheim.
If you are interested in coming out to show Rim pride and your appreciation of the Marching Scots, we would love to see you at the Loara High School’s Anaheim Parade on Oct. 29. Go Scots!
