Crestlights lighting contest returns for 5th year

The Crestlights house and business Christmas holiday lighting contest has returned to the Crestline area for the 2022 Christmas holiday season.
This year it is easy to join and just as easy to win. The purpose is to encourage the town to sparkle and twinkle with lights and seasonal displays to brighten up the night for the holidays. The lights may even enable Santa to find Crestline more easily on Christmas Eve and make him more generous.
There are two categories in the contest: residential or commercial. Each category will have two winners. First place will receive a wonderful lighted Christmas light trophy and the second-place winner will receive a lighted wreath. There will be a social media published list of entries and the winners, so people can drive by and see the lights and decor. It is hoped all decorated businesses in town enter the contest this year.
To enter, send the name of the submitter, the home’s address (with driving directions if needed) and any description of the décor by email to Grayson Lopez at [email protected], call (714) 769-9683 or visit the Facebook page for Castle Grayson and register for the competition. This contest is being sponsored by The Treasure Box at Castle Grayson at 23621 Manzanita Drive, Crestline.
The last day to register for the contest is Sunday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. Judging will take place by three judges on Monday, Dec. 19 after 5:30 p.m. The winner will be informed by Tuesday, Dec. 20. A list of all homes entered into the contest will be published across the Facebook world: on the Original Crestline Happenings California, Rim Everything, Rim Events, I Love Crestline and in the Dec. 22 edition of The Alpine Mountaineer.
Lopez hopes that those who enter the contest will leave their decorations and lights up and lit until at least New Year’s Day, weather permitting.
The contest’s purpose is to encourage and recognize those who like to decorate and want to make the Crestline community sparkle and shine for the holidays. Those who have previously entered, and even those who have won in the past, are encouraged to enter the Crestlights contest again and be a part of the Crestlights tour of decorated homes.
Everyone who has decorated their home, from one string of lights to a complete theme, is encouraged to enter the Crestlights contest.
