Honoring a patriot with a quilt

Charlie Calaci – a 98-year-old veteran of World War II – was recently presented with a Quilt of Valor at a special home ceremony arranged by his wife, Peggy. Ginger Gabriel, the local Quilt of Valor representative, had hoped to present the quilt to Calaci at the Veterans Day ceremony. However, because Calaci is on home hospice, that was not possible. After being wrapped in the quilt “hug,” Calaci and veteran Michael Brewer swapped tales of adventure.
