Holiday cheer at the Boys & Girls Club

At a holiday party held on Dec. 20 at the Iacono Site of the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club, the children enjoyed pizza, nachos and many other treats.
“Our community came together and did something wonderful for the kids at the Boys & Girls Club,” said CEO Marcy Vega.
Among the people and organizations who made the party possible are the CHP, Disabled American Veterans, Santa Claus Inc., American Legion Auxiliary Unit 777, Cindy Ayvazian and Julie Hauer.
“One of our volunteers – Fernando Arellano – dressed up as Santa, which the kids enjoyed,” Vega said. “Many of our families are struggling due to rising costs so having this opportunity to collaborate with these organization and individual donors – and the donors who chose not to be named – was incredible.
“The laughter and joy we heard all day long was amazing,” Vega added. “Some parents were beyond grateful. And some even shared sad stories that made this event even more meaningful.”
