Mountain organizations invited to participate in recruiting day

The Association of Mountain Volunteer Organizations (AMVO) invites all volunteer organizations, and any organization with a volunteer component, to participate in the second volunteer recruiting day.
This event will be held on March 25 at the San Moritz Lodge in Crestline.
Stan Howe, the coordinator of the program, is a member of several volunteer groups and believes there are many mountain residents desiring to give back to their community through volunteering but may not know what opportunities are available.
Having approximately two dozen organizations available in one location will provide the public the ability to learn more about what volunteer opportunities are available and choose those in which they may be interested.
Groups planning to participate include Arrowhead Arts Association, Crestline Lions Club, Mountain Meals on Wheels, Mountain Top Amateur Radio Association, Southern California Mountains Foundation Fire Lookout Program and the sheriff’s Citizens On Patrol, to name a few.
Volunteer groups wishing to register for the recruiting day may contact Stan Howe for more information at [email protected] and are encouraged to register as soon as possible to be included in the event.
