From Assemblyman Lackey

I wanted to make sure you’re aware of important disaster-related benefits that are available to you and your family through the Employment Development Department (EDD).

A State of Emergency for Kern, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino counties began on March 1st. The EDD has a variety of services for individuals affected by disasters in California, including waiving the waiting period for unemployment insurance benefits (UI), paid family leave (PFL) benefits, and extensions to file taxes.

These benefits can provide financial assistance to families in need, and I encourage you to see if you qualify. You can find more information on the EDD’s website here. To contact the EDD, please click here.

My office is always here to help with anything you need. Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is anything my District Office can do for you. Feel free to reach out at (661) 267-7636.

It’s an honor to represent you in the California State Assembly.
