Crestline resident Brandi Douglas was named to the Champlain College Trustees’ List for the Fall 2022 semester, having achieved a 4.0 grade point average for two or more consecutive semesters.

Founded in 1878, Champlain College is a small, not-for-profit, private college in Burlington, Vermont, with additional campuses in Montreal, Canada, and Dublin, Ireland. From its beautiful campus overlooking Lake Champlain, the college offers an innovative academic experience and more than 100 residential and online programs, including undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates.

Douglas took Champlain’s online program, earning a B.S. degree in computer forensics and digital investigations in August 2022 and an advanced certificate in cybersecurity last December.

“I started my B.S. program back in July of 2020,” she said, “after I decided I wanted to make a career change from being an actress in Los Angeles.

“I have always had a passion for forensic science and investigations, along with a fascination for technology, so I decided to combine these loves and go down the path of digital forensics,” she said.

Douglas noted she added the program for the cybersecurity certificate “because I wanted to understand how an incident or crime could be prevented, along with being able to figure out what and/or how it occurred, which is the forensic side of things.”

She is currently searching for work in the field as a digital forensic investigator.

“I’m hoping to be able to use my skills and education in locating and analyzing electronic data to help victims and their families receive the answers and justice they deserve,” Douglas said.
