Polynesian dancers

By Mary-Justine Lanyon

For 40 years, the Rim of the World Educational Foundation has supported programs offered by the Rim of the World Unified School District.

Through a variety of fundraising efforts, the Foundation raises the money to support AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), ROP/CTE (Regional Occupational Program/Career Technical Education classes) and Partnership with Schools grants.

This Sunday, folks will have a opportunity to be part of that educational support by attending the Luau at the Lake event, the Foundation’s spring gala.

There will be a Polynesian buffet as well as Polynesian dancers. Attendees will hear from students who have benefited from the AVID and ROP/CTE programs – their testimonies are always heartfelt and underscore the importance of these programs.

The event will be held at the UCLA Conference Center, 850 Willow Creek Road.

To order tickets, visit www.rimedfoundation.org.
