Folks have been wondering: Will the Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club be able to hold its Steaks at the Lake fundraiser this year?
The answer is Yes! Despite the blizzard and despite the roof collapsing at Goodwin and Son’s Market, the event will take place on Friday, June 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the San Moritz Lodge.
Goodwin’s – always a big supporter of the Rotary club and the community – will be able to provide the steaks (cold aged this year). Event chair Derek Leistra was adamant that the club not lower the quality of the steaks and worked with Mike Johnstone, VP and general manager of Goodwin’s, to get the steaks he wanted.
Folks will also enjoy baked potatoes, salad, vegetables and, of course, dessert. There will be beer and wine for sale.

The San Moritz Lodge was filled with happy diners last year.
Those who attended Steaks at the Lake last year – or the club’s Lobster at the Lake event in September – will remember the fabulous band who played classic rock all night long. Well, The Highland Music Company is returning and will once again be playing those tunes that get everyone up on the dance floor.

Folks couldn’t keep from leaping up and dancing to the great music.
No fundraising event would be complete without a silent auction. There will be a variety of items donated by local merchants for guests to bid on.
Tickets are $60 and are available on the club’s website – www.crestlinerotary.com – at LakeView Realty and from members of the Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club.

The Highland Music Company will once again have folks up on their feet.
Proceeds benefit the club’s community projects, like the three EarlyAct Clubs at Valley of Enchantment Elementary School, the backpack giveaway (done in conjunction with the Lions Club), the community Thanksgiving dinner and the peace garden the club is currently working on with members of the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club.
