Le Grand Picnic with the theme of “Back to the Future” returns after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. It is Mountains Community Hospital Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The money raised at Le Grand Picnic helps the Foundation respond to the hospital’s most pressing needs; 100 percent of all donations are directed toward lifesaving equipment and improvements that would not be possible with patient revenue alone.

Early bird tickets are available until June 30 for $100 per person. After that, tickets will be $120 per person. To purchase tickets and sponsorships, please www.mchcares.com.

Now in its 29th year, this fundraiser is a mountain tradition attended by over 300 people. The event takes place in the hospital’s Rose Garden, which has an incredible view of the lake. The event features silent and live auctions, entertainment, food and drink, and a raffle for three gold coins worth nearly $2,000 each!

This year’s emcee is Lake Arrowhead local Robbin Nordsten. Both a live performer and studio singer, Robbin has been an active member of the music industry for 40 years. Whether performing live in and around Los Angeles, entertaining at the MGM Grand Hotel, working in-studio with various recording artists, doing voiceovers for commercials or developing her signature Snuggle Bear voice, Robbin enjoys it all. While in the midst of her entertainment career, Robbin got her master’s degree in education.

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s theater, live performances or talking to teens…the need

is the same,” the motivational speaker said. “Bring enthusiasm, your talent, see your audience and read the room.”

“We feel lucky to have met Robbin,” said Kim McGuire, the Foundation director. “She is not just our emcee; it is like having another employee in the Foundation office – she is hands-on and works hard to take things off our plate to make our lives easier. We are so grateful for her.

“The only other person we know who can match Robbin’s enthusiasm and energy is Suzanne Cios Krainock, M.S., BAS, CAI. Suzanne was our auctioneer in 2019 and helped us raise more money than ever! She is a gifted auctioneer and a joy to watch, and we are thrilled to welcome her back. Suzanne recently moved to the mountains. We like to think the kindness and generosity she witnessed at our event had something to do with her move. We hope you will join us for this evening of remarkable charity!” McGuire added.
