The 42nd Run Through the Pines is set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 12.
The run – said to be one of the longest running runs in Southern California – features a 10k and 5 k run (or walk) around Lake Gregory. It is sponsored by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District and the Lake Gregory Company.
Check-in and same-day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. in the San Moritz Meadow by Lake Gregory with the race start at 8 a.m., followed by awards at 9:30 a.m.
There will be water stations along the route. Racers will have chips to track their time so there will be computerized race results.
Custom trophies will be awarded to the first-place winners in the age categories as well as to the 5k and 10k overall winners.
