After a great deal of speculation on Facebook, Bob Mattison, who has served as the general manager of the Arrowhead Lake Association for the past three-plus year, issued a letter to the membership in an Aug. 3 update:

Dear ALA Members,
As many of you have heard by now, I just announced my plan to retire from the position of ALA General Manager. My last day at work will be Sept. 8 (the Friday following Labor Day). My wife and I have decided we need to spend more time with our family, especially our 1-½-year-old grandson while he is still young. We also look forward to some extensive travel, and maybe I’ll finally get to the gym more often!

I took the GM job about 3-½ years ago after serving as a Director, which was preceded by several years of service as a member of Shoreline, Lake Operations and Finance Committees. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my time working with the many people I have met through the ALA. I will miss working with everyone but, since we are planning to keep our current house here, I’m sure I will still see many of you from time to time.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve the many great people of the ALA.
Bob

In the same Aug. 3 updated, the Association announced the search for the next general manager. Interested candidates should contact Wayne Austin, the ALA administration supervisor, at WAustin@ala-ca.org.
