The American Red Cross San Bernardino County will hold a free shelter fundamentals training on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Twin Peaks Community Center, 675 Grandview Road, Twin Peaks.
During the training, community members will learn the basics about how a Red Cross shelter operates and how volunteers can help the next time an emergency strikes in the community. The Red Cross relies on the power of volunteers to be able to respond to disasters 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Community members are welcome to attend by registering. To register, send an email to [email protected].
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides comfort to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; distributes international humanitarian aid; and supports veterans, military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to deliver its mission.
