The number of hours that it takes to create the quilts that will be on display this Saturday, Sept. 23 in the annual Blue Jay Quilt Walk is astounding.

Members of the Willow Woods Quilt Guild will once again be sharing their talent as they hang their masterpieces throughout Blue Jay Village.

The quilt walk will start at 10 a.m. when people can start strolling and appreciating these works of art. At noon, the Mountain Fifes & Drums will perform, followed by the quilt auction at 1 p.m.

Geoff Hopper, a member of the Mountain Sunrise Rotary Club, and Bob Gladwell, a member of the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club, will once again serve as auctioneers. Profits from the auction will go to Camp Paivika in Crestline, a camp that serves those who are disabled.

Pat Duebbers, who is chairing the event, said there will be 75 quilts in the auction for folks to bid on.

There will be a featured quilter and an exhibit and demonstration of vintage sewing machines.
