The Lake Gregory Yacht Club, with coordination by the Lake Gregory Company, will be hosting its first Boys & Girls Club RC (remote control) sailboat training event since the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic. The event will take place this Saturday, Sept. 30, at Lake Gregory’s South Shore boat launching site.

According to Yacht Club Commodore Doug Howardell, about a dozen youngsters are expected to participate in this event, which gets underway at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 noon. Free parking, courtesy of the Lake Gregory Company, will be available in the South Shore parking lot for all participants and family members.

Boys and girls will be given an opportunity to learn about and try sailing radio-controlled sailboats, which will be provided by the yacht club, along with instruction from yacht club members. This event is free to all members of the Boys & Girls Club. Any child participating must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.

For more information, contact the Lake Gregory Yacht Club at (909) 907-9427 or log onto www.lakegregoryyachtclub.com.
