San Bernardino County Supervisor Dawn Rowe has announced that the board of supervisors unanimously approved her proposal to provide funding in the amount of $50,000 for senior citizen lunches in the mountain communities.
For 17 years, the Crest Forest Senior Citizens’ Club has been administering the senior nutrition luncheon program. The program provides meals to seniors over the age of 60 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the San Moritz Lodge in Crestline. The program is reliant on funding from donations and grants. The local thrift store that generates revenues to support the program was closed for a period of time because of the pandemic but has reopened.
“I’m pleased to provide crucial funds for this vital resource for our most vulnerable residents in our mountain communities,” Supervisor Rowe said. “I also want to thank the Crest Forest Senior Citizens’ Club for leading this essential program and for all their efforts in ensuring that it continues.”
Supervisor Dawn Rowe has served on the San Bernardino Board of Supervisors since 2018. She is currently chair of the board and represents the 3rd District, which includes the San Bernardino County mountain communities.
