The Mountain Arts Network invites the community to their annual holiday reception on Dec. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at their gallery in Lake Arrowhead Village.
At the reception, folks can mingle with and meet the artists, enjoy some refreshments and win raffle prizes of member artists’ pieces, including a painting created during the reception by Helga Batman-Koplin.

Two of the artists – who are featured in MAN’s latest newsletter – are Rena Heagle and Sue Priest.
Heagle notes that “art is a language of the most intimate expression and chronicles my life experiences.” Her artistic endeavors began very early in her life.
“For as long as I can remember,” she said, “I have felt the need to create.” Her artwork has encompassed many mediums – metal sculpture, ceramics, oil and acrylic painting, foam, concrete, rock and an array of woods.
Heagle credits the mountain landscape for much of her creative inspiration. “I am so grateful and fortunate to have the opportunity to share with you what comes from my soul,” she added.
Sue Priest works in a variety of mediums in an effort to challenge and express herself. Originally a wetlands ecologist, her life took a radical change in 2017 when she found the need to reinvent herself.
Priest was teaching herself to silversmith using copper and observed copper’s unique reactiveness to heat and chemicals. For the past five years, she has been cultivating copper flame art skills.
In October, she took first place for metal art at the Sedona Arts Festival. Each piece she creates is one of a kind.
The Mountain Arts Network gallery is located lakeside in Lake Arrowhead Village at 28200 Highway 189, next to Belgian Waffle Works.
