Deputies investigate school threats

Dec 14, 2023 | Government, Local, Mountain Emergency Update

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, received information that a Rim of the World High School student posted numerous threats online indicating there would be a shooting at the school.

Station detectives conducted a thorough investigation and identified the student as a 14-year-old female juvenile. The student, a resident of Lake Arrowhead, was contacted and detained.

The investigation determined there was no immediate danger to any staff or students from the school and the threats were not deemed credible. The student was admitted to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the investigation (Case No. 052301548) is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, at (909) 336-0600. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may contact We-Tip at (800) 78-CRIME (27463) or go to wetip.com.
