The 15th annual PolaRotary Bear Plunge is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m.
The beach at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa will be filled with folks sporting colorful costumes, waiting for their turn to go jump in the lake.

A team from Mountains Community Hospital jumps every year, dressed in themed costumes. (File photos)
Some folks jump as a single diver; others jump as a team. They are all raising money for their favorite charities as well as for the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Foundation.
Three rules apply to the jumpers:
• No wetsuits
• No nudity
• Complete immersion is required (but there is no time limit)
Costumes are encouraged.
Jumpers must be at least 18 years old and each must raise at least $50 in pledges.
Participants solicit contributions from those who wish to support the jumper’s charity of choice and their heroic plunge into the freezing cold waters of Lake Arrowhead. The money collected by the jumpers is split 50/50, up to $1,000.00, between their charity of choice and the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Foundation. All money raised above $1,000 goes entirely to the jumper’s charity of choice.
Anyone who would like to support the event but does want to jump may become a sponsor. For $200 you will receive a personalized poster to hang in your business or home.
